Splendid work with chromolithographed plates of a very high standard. It was of great influence of Art Nouveau design in Dutch architecture and design. The decoration of the Rijksmuseum at Amsterdam was based upon this book. The introductory text deals extensively with the mythological symbols of flowers and plants.
