Three volumes were published of the scientific results of the explorations of the Natural History Commission for the Dutch East Indies, under the general editorship of Coenraad Jacob Temminck. Korthals was the official botanist and author of the botanical part with 70 plates, published from 1839-1842 [-1844]. Landwehr indicates that only 250 copies were printed.
