One of the great Belgian horticultural periodicals, published over 43 years. From 1854-1868 edited by Charles Lemaire and published by Ambroise Verschaffelt. In 1869 the Verschaffelt Établissement was bought up by Jean Jules Linden and the editorship went to Éduard André and ended in 1896. The work is finely illustrated by the Belgian lithographers L. & P. Stroobant who had mastered the art of colour-printing from stone.
